Mantra Monday

So, when I posted my “Books to Read” list, I should have mentioned that I haven’t been able to start any of them because I’m currently reading “Eat, Pray, Love” by Elizabeth Gilbert (not my choice – it was given to me because my beach reads were “too serious”).

The book is very good, definitely worth your while. Inspired by my friend Tiffani’s weekly Mantra Monday posts, I wanted to share this lovely fashion-related excerpt from “Eat, Pray, Love” about positive thoughts:

“… You need to learn how to select your thoughts just the same way you select what clothes you’re gonna wear everyday. This is a power you can cultivate. If you want to control things in your life so bad, work on the mind. That’s the only thing you should be trying to control. Drop everything else but that. Because if you can’t learn to master your thinking, you’re in deep trouble forever.” – Richard from Texas

I thought this was a lovely sentiment; to select your thoughts just like you select your outward appearance. They go hand-in-hand, after all!

I hope everyone’s having a wonderful Monday!
